Danielle Hamilton-Carter To Play For Sweden At World University Games

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech senior Danielle Hamilton-Carter will represent her native Sweden as a member of the national team which will compete in the World University Game July 8-15 in Kazan, Russia.

Sweden will begin the tournament in Pool A along with Mongolia, Poland and host Russia. Games will be held at the Basket Hall, a multipurpose facility that seats 7,000 people.

Hamilton-Carter also played on the Swedish national team that won its group last summer and qualified for the 2013 EuroBasket Championship to be held in France, June 30-15. The Stockholm, Sweden, native also played on the 2011 Swedish team which finished fourth at the 2011 World University Games in Shenzen, China.

Hamilton-Carter played in 30 games, starting 17, last season for the Yellow Jackets. For the year, she shot 50 percent from the field and averaged 5.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Her 5.0 rebounds ranked third on the Tech roster.
