Cragin Named ACC Freshman of the Week

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech’s James Cragin was named ACC Freshman of the Week after a 65th place finish at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

In his first collegiate meet, Cragin clocked a time of 25:26.4 in the men’s 8K run. He also set an average pace of 5:07.0 and helped Tech grab a ninth place overall finish among 22 teams.

Out of true freshmen at the Battle in Beantown, Cragin finished third and first among ACC freshmen. On the team he placed fourth as the Jackets averaged a time of 25:14.

Cross country is back in action Oct. 12 at the Penn State National Open in University Park, Pa. The women’s race is slated for 10:30 a.m. while the men are set to compete at 11:15 a.m.
