Tavyn Lovitt was named the track and field/cross country volunteer assistant coach in the summer of 2017.

“At the age of 7, I discovered a craving for running,” Lovitt said. “The excitement and lifestyle I experienced through my time at Ole Miss left me convinced to pursue a career devoted to the research and development of distance running. Joining the Georgia Tech program is allowing me the opportunity to work with not only top-tier coaches, but top-tier student-athletes – I won the volunteer coach sweepstakes.”

Prior to The Flats, Lovitt was a four-year letterwinner in cross country and in track and field at Ole Miss, where she competed in the outdoor track and field and cross country SEC Championships.

Lovitt also became one of the first female student-athletes at Ole Miss to make the travel squad for the NCAA cross country championships in 2016.

A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Lovitt graduated Ole Miss in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in English education.
