Brandon Thomas Sidelined Indefinitely With Mono

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech senior Brandon Thomas will be sidelined indefinitely with a case of mononucleosis. Thomas had started the first 23 games and was hitting .441, which led the Atlantic Coast Conference and was 10th nationally.

Thomas, an Atlanta native, was also among the ACC’s leaders in hits (41), runs (31), doubles (9), on-base percentage (.509) and slugging (.591). He also missed Tech’s game this past Tuesday versus The Citadel.

No. 16 Tech (19-5, 6-3) hosts Wake Forest in an ACC series this weekend. The Jackets entered the week leading the nation in hitting (.351), slugging (.514), on-base percentage (.432), and were second in scoring (9.3).
