Behind The Scenes with Track & Field's Alphonso Jordan

April 30, 2009

ATLANTA – With just two meets left before the 2009 NCAA East Regional Championships, the Georgia Tech Track & Field teams will take a week off for finals. RamblinWreck.com caught up with junior Alphonso Jordan to talk about his performance at the 2009 ACC Outdoor Championships.

The Charlotte, N.C. native gives us a behind the scenes look at his ACC-Select interview with Fox Sports reporter Heather Catlin, which will air Thursday, June 4 at 6 p.m. on FS South, FS Carolina and FS Tennessee. Jordan has regionally qualified in three events, the 110 hurdles, long jump and triple jump.

Both men’s and women’s teams have combined to post 22 regional qualifying performances, while 10 members posted All-ACC performances two weeks ago at the 2009 ACC Outdoor Championships. Jordan (triple jump), along with senior Jerome Miller (high jump) and junior Steve Marcelle (shot put) took ACC titles while helping the men’s squad to fourth-place – their highest finish since the 2005 season.

The Jackets return to action Friday, May 8, at the Seminole Twilight Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
