THE FLATS – Georgia Tech indoor track and field concluded another strong weekend on Saturday, while splitting into three meets in its final weekend before championship season.

“We had several PRs and ACC automatic qualifying performances over the weekend as we split up the team to attend three different meets,” head men’s coach Grover Hinsdale said. “Nahom [Solomon] continues to stack up great performances as he set a new school record at 3000m. Avery [Bartlett] had a great race at Iowa as well in the 800m. Andrew Kent seems to be coming into form and Frank Pittman ran another excellent mile race as they competed at Vanderbilt. We get back to work on Monday as we prepare for the ACC Championships in two weeks.”

“Good weekend for the women overall,” head women’s coach Alan Drosky said. “Our hurdlers keep performing at a very high level and we had some really big improvements in the distance events with great efforts by Amy Ruiz and Nicole Fegans. In the sprints, we’re also moving forward. We’ve got two more weeks of preparation for ACC’s and we need to be ready to go.”

The Yellow Jackets will now have two weeks to prepare for the ACC Indoor Championships in Clemson, S.C. The three-day meet begins Feb. 22.
