Annual Lettermen's Game Set for Saturday

Jan. 28, 2009

ATLANTA – Marvin Lewis, Isma’il Muhammad and Robert Brooks, key players in Georgia Tech’s Final Four season of 2003-04, are set to play in the Yellow Jackets’ annual Lettermen’s Game, which will take place Saturday at Alexander Memorial Coliseum following the men’s varsity game against No. 6 Wake Forest.

The game, which will tip off at approximately 3 p.m., is the climax to a weekend of activities for basketball letterwinners, including a reception and dinner Friday night at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center.

Lewis, Muhammad and Brooks helped lead the Yellow Jackets on a stirring run to the national championship game in San Antonio in 2004, where they fell to top-ranked Connecticut and finished the season with a 28-10 record. Also committed to play in Saturday’s game are such Tech notables as Jon Babul, Bruce Dalrymple, Brian Domalik, Michael Maddox, Jack Mansell, Ivano Newbill and T.J. Vines.

Other stars to attend the weekend’s festivities are 1961 consensus All-American Roger Kaiser, 1985 and 1986 All-American Mark Price and 1990 All-American Brian Oliver, as well as Drew Barry and James Forrest, who led Tech to the 1993 Atlantic Coast Conference championship.

Admission to the Lettermen’s Game is free, but patrons planning on arriving during the Wake Forest game, which begins at 12 noon, will need a ticket to the game and a parking permit to access permit parking areas.
